I've been thinking long and hard about subjects which I could base my fmp around, i've always wanted to be the person which can open peoples eyes to knowledge which has long been forgotten and then I realised...im not very persuasive with my arguements so the idea of doing mine on mythology was discarded relatively quickly.
I then had many other ideas inbetween this time but I then found myself settling on a subject which relates to the industry I want to join, something thats going to be ever changing nd developing with a dense background and a bright future, for my fmp I want to do computer games graphics
The past and where they begun.
The present and where they are now and finally.
The Future and where the technology is leading us.
From the birth of pong and pac-man to the discovery of pixel mario, the blazing firefights of Halo and COD to the furthest reaches of 3D gaming and virtual reality.
I want to explore the lengths and breaths of an industry which is powered by who? The graphic card manufactuers OR the people that build and design the games with the graphics in them?
Over the course of my project I wish to discover the god fathers of gaming and the experience which comes from realistic graphics and how they have improved and where I believe for them to be in the future

This could be a really promising idea Chad if you take it into enough depth - the danger is in making something that just scratches the surface. How about a vehicle for this? have a look at some 'steampunk' work. this originates from sci-fi where writers like Gibson imagined what the world would have been like had our computer and technology advances happened much earlier - such as during the victorian era.
ReplyDeletealso, can you post up all your research and also the written pieces you have so far so that all your classmates can comment?
